Why Cedars-Sinai Guerin Children's?
Cedars-Sinai Guerin Children's saved my son's life. There are no words that can accurately describe the anguish and pure uncontrollable agony of watching one of your children get sick - really sick. This is exactly what happened to our middle son when he turned 8 years old.
What began as a stomach ache quickly turned into a nightmare, as our son’s ulcerative colitis spiraled out of control within a few months of diagnosis. He could not eat and was hemorrhaging blood. The only solace during this difficult time was the absolute incredible life saving care he received at Cedars-Sinai Guerin Children’s. Dr. Rabizadeh and Dr. Phillip Flesher saved Simon’s life - a debt I can never repay.
I delivered all 3 of my children at Cedars-Sinai. I always knew that they were a premier medical enterprise, but the care that they showed to my son and to our family is something that I will remember forever. It is with immense gratitude that we have created this program to give back to Cedars-Sinai Guerin Children's.

Simon's Story
When I was 8 years old I had stomach aches all the time. My parents took me to the gastroenterologist and I was scoped and immediately diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. Within a few months the disease was out of control. I lost over 20 pounds, tried every medication, and had to have a blood transfusion, but nothing worked.
Finally, through the incredible life-saving doctors and surgeons at Cedars-Sinai Guerin Children's I had my entire colon removed in an emergency surgery on Christmas day in 2016. I was so weak that over the course of several months, I had to regain my strength before the next set of surgeries and reconstruction could begin. It was a very difficult year, but through that struggle I learned so much. I learned the true meaning of the power of positive thinking, and I learned to be so grateful for the immense power of the physicians at Cedars-Sinai Guerin Children's.
I am proud to work with Adina Reyter in creating this program to support the kids at Cedars-Sinai. I was one of those kids, and I know firsthand the impact that your support brings.
